Mold has become widely recognized across the functional medicine community as the root cause of a variety of illnesses and health conditions. There's more to mold than basic allergic reactions. We're talking auto-immune diseases, leaky gut, eczema/psoriasis, stealth infections, and even brain damage. This is why most mold-literate doctors will tell you the first step to recovery is properly identifying and removing the mold from your home.

Here are some common health conditions that are heavily impacted by mold exposure:

·         CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome)

Chronic Inflammatory Response syndrome was the original "mold illness" diagnosis. About 24% of people are genetically predisposed to not detox environmental contaminants properly. This creates a toxic buildup in the body that results in chronic inflammation. And chronic inflammation is the cornerstone of chronic disease. So, eliminating mold exposure in a home is a MUST for someone diagnosed with CIRS.

·         Lyme Disease & Mold Illness

This shape shifter bacteria thrives when someone's immune system is overloaded. This is why mold and Lyme disease are so connected. Like mold, Lyme disease has many symptoms and can impact every system in your body. So, if your immune system is busy fighting mold exposure from your home, then your body doesn't stand a chance against Lyme disease and it's co-infections.

·         Auto-Immune Disease & Mold Illness

Mold exposure is a major factor in the autoimmune-inflammation space that is often overlooked. It can either be the root cause of an auto-immune condition or continue to perpetuate the inflammatory storm that makes it thrive. In either case, when someone has a mold issue in their home, the continued exposure makes any treatment protocol far less effective.

·         PANS // PANDAS & Mold Illness

Mycotoxins created by molds are neurotoxic. Meaning they are toxins that affect the brain. This toxic stress on the brain can be the root cause of PANS, exacerbate existing PANS/PANDAS, or even result in a PANS/PANDAS misdiagnosis. Eliminating mold from the home is paramount when trying to overcome these conditions.

Our inspection process:

·         Locate ALL Potential Mold Sources

You can't fix a problem if you don't know where it's coming from. Our inspection process averages 4-5 hours and includes a complete, thorough visual inspection assisted with infrared cameras, and moisture meters. Every area of the home is evaluated including basements, crawl spaces, attics, and HVAC systems.

·         Sample Testing to Confirm Mold Contamination

Not every suspected area is mold contaminated, and not all contaminated areas are equal in magnitude. We need to prove the presence of mold to develop a complete remediation strategy, and to also create a prioritization list if necessary. Our testing process includes all key areas of your home, such as: HVAC, hidden structural components, and belongings.

·         Develop Remediation Plan to Remove Mold Contamination.

True mold remediation includes two phases; first is removing the sources of contamination. If these aren't removed, then no cleaning will ever be successful. The second phase is removing the spores, fragments, and mycotoxins left behind by the mold sources. We develop a customized step-by-step plan and provide resources for guiding your remediator.
